Amanda Marchand will be leading a collaborative photo project during the Photo Alliance Book Symposium at the San Francisco Art Institute on Saturday, February 4th, 2017 at 12:30pm. The collaborative photo project is inspired by her recent artist book and series, Because the Sky. Marchand will invite visitors and passersby to form a meditation circle, sitting on photo sensitive paper, in creating a large-scale lumen print using the human form. Her timely project combines photography, meditation, and poetry to acknowledge the importance of community strength in the context of our turbulent times.
